The Last Resort
The Last Resort is two separate buildings within a well established and fenced garden. The Old Place is a renovated and repurposed bush cottage with kitchen, dining and living. The Roost, with 4 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, is perched three hundred metres above the Pacific Ocean facing the rising sun. With privacy and views to boot it’s the perfect place to unwind, and on clear nights the dark sky area will show you the stars like never before.
The Last Resort sleeps up to eight and is available for exclusive bookings or shared guests (subject to availability).
Guests will enjoy:
- Four double bed rooms with two single beds in each room
- East facing with views of the sun and moon rise from your bed
- Two bathrooms with hot water and good water pressure
- Spring water
- 240 volt solar electricity
- Well equipped kitchen and comfortable living area in a renovated and repurposed bush cottage
- Bring your own food, or meals can be by arrangement
- Bring your own bedding or sleeping bag
- A well established and fenced garden area
- A wood burner with plenty of locally grown firewood provided
- Baggage transfer
- Holding paddock for horses
- Well behaved and stock-proof dogs may be accepted (with prior agreement)
Cost:
- $340 per person for a night at The Last Resort and the 2 days Last Resort Walk (there and back).
- $150 per person for extra nights at The Last Resort.
- $25 per person each way for The Taxi (Can Am side by side) from the farm homestead to The Last Resort or back.
- Baggage transfer included.
Group or Solo Bookings
The Last Resort is available for exclusive group bookings of up to eight guests making it perfect for a getaway with your favourite friends or family members.
Individuals and smaller groups can book a private bedroom (with two single beds per room) and access the shared kitchen, bathroom and living areas alongside other guests.
Singles can take pot luck or reserve a double bedroom for the cost of an extra night.
Extra Accommodation
If you want to stay another night, either on arrival or return, then extra accommodation may be available at The Ritz or The Lodge.
Dark Sky Reserve
Our farm sits amongst the Wairarapa Dark Sky Reserve, so whether you’re into astrophotography or enjoy star gazing you will love viewing the night sky from The Last Resort.
Getting to The Last Resort
Guests can enjoy an 11km walk to The Last Resort. Alternatively you may choose to get to The Last Resort by riding a horse (bring you own or contact Heavenly Horse Treks), a mountain bike, or take a taxi in our Can Am side by side.
We welcome guests who agree to keep the land, people and animals safe and secure.
